2008 is starting off to be a great year to be in the outdoors.. With all the hunting season's wrapping up a lot of sportsmen are once again thinking about fishing. Outdoor Adventure's Guide Service is looking forward to another out standing year of fishing. Last year 2007 Started off looking great but as the year went on Mother nature turned for the worse. Ice storms, Strong wind's and some of the worst spring time flooding in over 100 years. This all took its toll on the lakes and rivers. Not to mention the fishing.. Our Striper numbers were down due to the high flooding waters at the prime time to catch Stripers.. But at the same time Our Crappie numbers set a all time high with full limits of Crappie on almost every trip.. This year were going to be changing a few things about our Guided trips.. Starting off with our Striper trip's. We going to limit the trips to 1 to 2 person's. If you have a larger group up to 4 we can take you out but will have to use two boat's. We have talked about this over the last few years and have decided to do it this year. This will make for a more enjoyable trip and your chances of catching a Huge Striper more of a reality. Also were going to be offering Spoonbill trips in the spring. If you have never hooked into a spoonbill its something you wont forget .Some of these fish weigh in at almost 100 pounds.. Give us a call or email if you would like anymore information about our 2008 trips.. In this weeks picture is all about Crappie. If you have never enjoyed fishing for Crappie? Now is the time to see what you have been missing. Crappie fishing in the spring time in Oklahoma can be excellent at times. With limits each day not being uncommon. Lake Eufaula is one of the top Crappie fishing lakes in the nation. Two see fish in the 2 lb range is not uncommon. The spring spawn is just now getting under way and will continue through the middle of May. This is a excellent time to be fishing this lake. If you would like to get in on some of this great fishing just give us a call. All other fishing is looking good.. Crappie are excellent on jigs and minnows in 8 foot of water around spawning areas, Catfish is good in the river channels 30 to 40 ft deep on shad.. Striper's fishing is slow due to flooding waters in the river systems. Till next time your Outdoor Adventure Guide.. Larry
